How To Grow Dahlias
Attached with each order will be detailed growing instructions. For more details, check out our page on how to grow and care for your Dahlias. Here are the basic steps to growing nice dahlias.
- Plant 4-5” deep from Mid March to Late April, depending on your location. Soil should be about 60 F
- Give little to no water until shoots emerge, after that make sure to give the plants a deep soaking watering 2 times a week when it is dry.
- Use low Nitrogem fertilizer. A 5-10-10 mixture or something similar is ideal. Fertilize each month for consistent growth.
- Watch for weeds and pests and keep them away when they appear.
- Dead head the old blooms and your plants should bloom continuously until a hard frost.
